ACO 5.0 - Coding Altino Cars

Understanding the basics of coding can help you understand how things work in unison on your website, and steer clear of causing any breaks while editing your content. Even though some people might not take a job that requires knowing how to code, it's still important to know how to program and know how to code. Challenge #1 was a assignment that me and 2 other partners had to create a code that would program the altino car to do a figure 8 and stop on the finish line. My group copied a sample that Mrs. Sanderl put into our slides to get a start on the assignment then we edited to sample and made it our own. We programed the car to turn every 1.2 seconds to create turns that would make the car go around the corners smoothly. Working through the trial and error was difficult, we tried many different strategies and techniques to complete the assignment.

The new commands added into Challenge #2 was a little difficult for me to process in the beginning. Their were 4 new commands, while loop, array, display line, and sound. If Auto Indexing is enabled, values from array structures will be passed one at a time. If Auto Indexing is disabled, then the entire data structure or value will be passed at once. So for example, for the array structure, if Auto Indexing is enabled, on each new iteration the tunnel would pass the next value IN the array (notice this is may not be an array data type). But if Auto Indexing was disabled, the tunnel would pass the entire array structure. More into the future where autonomous cars will be advanced then yes I would trust an autonomous vehicle to drive me around. I think that autonomous vehicles will be put on more critical/difficult jobs such as an autonomous ambulance. Why? Because I feel like in the future we will rely on technology in the next 15-20 years.

ACO 3.0 - Art and Design

In my Still Life painting their were elements used such as line and texture. Those two elements of art were used majority in my Still Life then all the other elements applied. By using line I changed multiple different filters, inverting the colors, color blur, and many more but those things made line appear in my artwork. Texture is always applied in any art piece but in my artwork specifically it was used by smoothening/texturizing my mountains to make some objects pop out more. You're texture brush at most times needs to be at a specific brush size to increase the amount of detail added into the art piece. What I found enjoyable in this project was the easy steps such as inverting colors, changing filters but, what I found challenging was lining out the artwork with the drawing pad because it really isn't an accurate outline than doing in straight from your pad on the computer.

My landscape image was taken at the Kalalau lookout on the west side of Kaua'i. It was taken on a very beautiful day with the clouds over us with the wind giving us cool breeze. From our Still Life and landscape photos, they are both very similar with the same elements of art applied such as line and texture. I stuck with the more advanced tutorial because to me if it's more difficult or challenging then it must have a more detailed outcome. Since I did the more advanced tutorial my piece came out fairly nice but it wasn't because of the type of process I chose, it was because of the bad quality used to take the photo. The outcome of my landscape was fair in my opinion, I know I could've done better but the photo was just to bad in quality.

The photo was taken in Seattle Washington by me and this person is one of my siblings named Michael. I took the photo because he wanted to send my family a picture of him having fun because it was just me and him for 2 weeks in Washington. This picture means a lot to me because he is one of my favorite people in the world and thats why I chose this photo to use in my project. This final image does not include all of the Elements of Art  because I was behind on the assignment but I made sure to include texture, line. I agree with the results I got which was in the middle kind of score and I agree fully with they're decisions because I was behind on work this unit. My critique results was fairly good but at the same time bad, why? Because even though I wasn't 100% finished I still made sure to complete it at the best of my ability and my results are good in my opinion. The mix portrait was obviously going to be my highest score because thats the art piece I spent the most time on and I agree fully because the mix I made sure to include all the Elements of Art such as contrast, texture, line and so on.

Credit for the Still Image goes to Mrs. Sanderl.

ACO 5.0 - Audio Production

Intonation and inflection are both used to pull the audiences attention. Their both used to make your topic flow better and giving dramatic effect into your piece. I am the team leader in this assignment and my job is to check if everything flows smoothly using intonation, ask Mrs. Sanderl for help, editing etc. Being team leader was minor at first then at the end we ran into some issues so I needed to hop in the script which made my job much harder. The rehearsal process is crucial because that is where we use intonation and inflection, the script needs to flow with high and low tones in our voices. What needs to happen before recording? Rehearse your lines multiple times so your group can take out this project with one try.

The results from my groups critique were awesome! Majority of my classes opinions for our radio personality segment were positive. My teams level of completion and meeting Mrs. Sanderls standards were mostly 4's and 3's, in my opinion our level of completion was good. We kept the audience engaged by using intonation and inflection, using the tones of ur voices to cause dramatic effect. Some obstacles faced were not having enough voices to include advertisements and back to back conversations so I needed to hop in the script and complete the advertisements. If I were to do this project again I'd work more on rehearsing the script more so it'll flow easier because we have it memorized. Our script was great, I just feel like we should've practice more in the rehearsal stage.

ACO 6.0 - Proprietary Information

The FCC is an agency that regulates interstate and international communications by television, radio, wire, satellite and cable in all 50 states. Copyright infringement is using someone else's work without permission of use. The process of getting permission from the creators work has a simple 5 step procedure to make sure you can use their picture or writing etc. If you decide to use someone else's work (without) permission then the consequences will hurt you, financially and physically due to possibility of jail time. It all depends on what you decide to copyright. What is "Fair Use"? Example; Your on apple music and theirs a preview of a song that is usually about 30-45 secs long, you can use that previewed song without going through all the trouble of getting permission from the owner. Another example; Quoting some of the lines from a Elton John song in a music review.

Confidentiality is the state of keeping your belongings and(or) information secretive or private. Things I think that should be kept private is my passwords, If someone were to come across my passwords to my social media accounts, my private conversations, photos, information would be seen and brought out to the school or worse. Another piece of information you or another person should want to keep confidential is maybe a clients information, letting another person get ahold of a clients work and information is really bad because now your client doesn't want to work for you anymore. Social media has a lot to due with confidentiality, why? Because social media is where majority of peoples private information goes and its also where peoples private information gets expanded throughout the media. My stance in regarding censorship, my stance stands from the limited information that was given to me. The 5th Amendment relates to confidentiality because peoples right to privacy should be respected. I think freedom of speech should be censored before it gets posted on social media or people should think before they state they're opinion.

ACO 6.2: Examine ethical issues in arts and communications to make appropriate decisions related to clients, co-workers and society.

ACO 2.0 - Market Shifts

A market could be different things such as "a regular gathering of people for the purchase and sale of provisions, livestock, and other commodities", "an area or arena in which commercial dealings are conducted", or an advertisement/promotion. There's been many market shifts in the past 18-20 years, for example; Vehicles 5 years ago were driven by the driver now new are being authorized to drive themselves electronically. Home telephones have shifted into being wireless devices that could fit in your pocket. I could go on and on about many different market shifts that occurred these past years.. Another market shift is cameras, cameras back in the day was a privilege to have but now this generation carries high quality hd cameras with them wherever they go meaning the cell-phones. Imagine in the next 10-15 years, our world is changing drastically, the tech that will be created is going to be mind blowing in my opinion.

At first, the only reason why I chose this class was because I wanted to improve my technical skills and also because I want to do graphic design. Now that I got further in the class I now want to improve many skills such as photography, music production, and marketing just to name a few. I'm a very computer illiterate person because I never really had a laptop or home computer growing up so it's great now that I have this class to improve my computer and technical skills. I could maybe see myself being a marketing agent after college but thats not really my true passion in my life, I'm more of a physical/active worker and sitting down with a computer all day isn't really my field. If I were to major in this field then marketing would be my way of becoming successful. These skills will be useful in the near future for additional knowledge, learning the simple things leads to learning the more advanced things like what our future will throw at us. The world will advance quickly and this class will help me adjust to new technical skills.

ACO 2.1 Analyze how shifts in market affect changes to media and design.
ACO 2.2 Evaluate how changing communication needs of a market are addressed by media and design.
ACO 2.3 Propose media and design solutions that address the changing needs in global markets

ACO 4.0 Communication Strategies

My communication towards coaches, and teachers are more of a respectful manner in the way I speak, I feel more comfortable around friends or family. Different ways I communicate with individuals in my life is with my friends I normally cuss, use slang, laugh at them etc; With my elders I treat them with respect if I get the same in return. Why? Because with older individuals everyone knows that they deserve respect from younger generations. I feel most comfortable with friends or my siblings because I can say things to them without hesitation but I do treat both siblings and friends with respect. In my opinion what you can do to improve your communication and be more comfortable with others is to become close with your teachers or all in all your elders, when I become close with an individual old or young I feel much more comfortable communicating with them.

I see myself in college with a scholarship for basketball getting an associates degree while being active and playing basketball which is my passion. I'd like to get recruited into a high-ranked college with sponsors to help my college fee's. One specific field I'd like to learn more about is marine biology, why you ask? Since I was born and raised on an island surrounded by water I would always be at the beach everyday just having fun and I would want to learn more about the health effects negatively and positively on the coral reefs, animals, and the water. One career path that I see myself pursuing in the next 5-7 years from now is being a marine biologist because the ocean is what I always loved and its dying slowly every second. Basketball or anything to do with athletics would be my first choice because sports has kept me in shape for more than 9 years. My communication skills is about good in my opinion because I'm a very open person that talk's a lot and being a athlete you play in teams majority of the time and communicate with teammates so I already have a head start with working with peers.
